Visiting The Countryside
a poem to Earth
Words are the portal of my strong passion for you
Alluring me with stunning beauty
That seeps through the desolate layers of my self
As you play with my emotions, in that way that I love
I crave your lush silence like how a fetus wants a soul
And your tunes of birds, and everything that is swayed by your soothing wind
That allows thoughts to flourish and create
As you cradle me gently in the perfect peace of your atmosphere
Cradle me far, far away from the tainted place from which I traveled
Opening my senses deeper, to how they were in the long past
Taking in the tantalizing scents of your wild perfumes
While either rain is puddling or light is painting
The incredible view of your everything I treasure deeply
Feeling your entirety as simply a part of my small being
As I am welcomed back to my true home
To the paradise in my soul in nature in the unfurling of passion
Once more

NEED LESS COMPARING
Not being "book smart"
Or having a mind not as quick or sharp as others
Doesn't mean a person has less worth
Or value as a person
Having a positive impact on this world
Is everyone's ability, everyone's power,
No matter if you don't go to college
Because it's to difficult or expensive
No matter if you were able to accomplish a degree
Or be a president of a company
The latter of "class" simply was born an idea
That drew a line between us
Changing the way we think
About each-other, -comparing,
But there is no "higher" or "lower",
No way to stoop low to lend a hand to a "lower" class
No reason to look up or down
To judge a human;
From an uneducated teen farmer
To the president of a country
To a homeless person
To a millionaire with a high IQ
There is no dividing line
Of our species that is human,
Of our spirit
And the human heart tells us what is reality
Love is unable to see any lines,
But first we must remember...
That clearing our minds of invisible notions
Is the only way to experience what
Our hearts are waiting to tell us

OPENING
Your petals are slowly opening
But at the right pace
To show your center to others
Who may stop and view it in wonder
And be touched by what they see,
Though you are tiny compared to the huge world around you,
If you get walked on
You often just seem to bounce back,
You see you have roots, you have history,
A place where you grew
Rain that nourished your soul
To keep you going.
Every once in a while a stampede of wild animals comes
Or a drought and you don't bounce back,
But your seed is still there
Waiting for you to grow again
If at that time you could see
All the seeds you left around you
And how they impact others,
You may then see a reason to grow again.

Love is your foundation
Like soft pliable soil, rich with nutrients
Where there's an opportunity for beautiful plants
To grow from and thrive,
Without that, it looks and feels cold, hard, and barren
With very little growth
Like time is frozen stillness,
And the life that could of been there was stifled
By lack of warmth, under the heavy snow
But I know, far past the outstretched canopy of clouds
Breaching the quiet stillness
If you listen very closely
There is a sun that can be heard burning
Waiting to be able to bring life again
