Why?
Why do people make judgments,
You know me, and so you know I'm innocent,
So why do people make judgments about others,
When they never got to know who they are,
That part is left out,
That chance is missing,
So people choose to hate,
From simply basing it on what other people have said.
They create in their mind who that person is,
Without giving them a fair chance,
They call them freak,
What is the reason to call them those names?
What is it based on?
They never got to know who they are first,
That is an important basis,
Don't you think?
That would have showed them the doorway,
To understand others,
And why they are how they are,
Once they knew, they would understand.
That chance is blocked,
It stands in the way of a beautiful path,
A path to inspiration,
It is clouded over,
Making everything good invisible,
Missing a chance,
And that is what they have deprived themselves of.
They have missed the heart of someone unique.

Pets
Some people treat them like they are mindless,
Some give them away,
Some won't take them in, cause they don't want to care,
And sometimes after losing someone,
It is hard to love again.
Sometimes if an animal is not loved,
They won't show affection,
But as soon as someone opens their heart,
And truly loves from the soul,
That is something they know,
And then they will show affection back,
It is something unspoken,
But they are so sensitive, somehow they understand,
And it is in the unspoken that other things are understood too,
And might have the most meaning.
Maybe their love.
Maybe that is all their song is composed of,
Because every other quality they have is part of that,
It seems that is all they really want,
And to be able to truly live,
Perhaps that is why they keep coming back to people.
Once the barrier is broken,
they will continue to stay by our side,
not out of sympathy, or anything artificial,
but only with truth,
They have so much to show us,
It is so simple,
Yet when we understand it,
it is so complex,
But in the simplicity of things,
Those must be the most inspiring.

A Picture Of A Man Holding A Gun
Seeing a picture of a man holding a gun,
I see such a scary picture,
And inside with desperation I am yelling "NO!"
With so much fear,
That picture haunts me,
It's a picture representing so much,
I think to myself, "Why, why,
Why does this have to be,"
Oh I wish that child they once knew could save them,
'Cause they would think with their hearts and not their heads,
Maybe if they listened to their own children.
But no, it continues like a giant web,
So it turns into defense,
And so I pray for heaven.
I know it's the only outlet,
I pray for peace for families,
Because the death of one person, can mean the death of a family.
A brother of this race, did not see what it would do to a brother of a brother,
And now that one that has felt loss,
He weeps like a child,
Once again,
'Cause he loved unconditionally.
That is what I see when I see a picture of a man holding a gun.

God
Wherever my thoughts take me,
In any part of the world,
If I believe, there is much more than what meets the eye,
I think it will be shown.
There is one thing that is common,
In any time or place,
In the streets,
The hospitals,
And houses,
From all walks of life,
And all forms of life.
It is something I see in so many things,
Often when it's simply giving gratitude,
Just from being alive,
And even when sickness comes.
In the hospital,
I saw God in the little boy that was a cancer victim with the will to fight to live,
And he was so strong with hope, the grace to touch others.
I saw God in his parents love.
I saw God in the ones that are willing to learn and gain understanding, staying open-minded,
Even if the people around them look down on them.
As I walked through the streets,
And through the city,
The people's artwork stood out,
I saw God through divine works of art,
So beautiful I couldn't explain,
Some even made from people very young.
I saw God in the way children will walk up to strangers to start a conversation, so openly,
Not thinking of any judgments.
From the most common and precious things,
I saw God in the little girl that looked up to her mother and said, "I love you" so sincerely with a smile on her face.
And uncommon,
And unique,
I saw God in a man with unwavering love and the wisdom and truth to love so many,
And all that he would learn through it faithfully.
At times when I thought I was lost,
And no one cared,
Circumstances showed me I wasn't alone,
I saw God in the face of a little boy that prayed for peace,
When the adults around him he knew didn't care.
I pictured God in the faces of his pets and other's on their journey to heaven,
And the peace in their eyes were present.
I also saw God in the children that wanted to help clean up the pollution of the earth, so that others could live,
To enjoy life and live as they were.
I saw God in the soft blue sky and the golden fields,
In the brilliant sunset, and the galaxy that seemed to never end.
I saw that it was both of our treasures.
And most noticeably,
I saw God in the way certain things work out, when you or I wasn't expecting it.
Your imagination may actually become what's real,
Because it turns into hope,
And then can show what faith can come to be.

About Love
Love is not foolish,
It stands in the way of pain and sorrow,
And pushes us to believe,
It is wise, comprehending understanding and truth,
Not leaving that behind in the middle of chaos, of hate.
I believe it is more worldly,
More open.
Love,
what else can we fall back on?
When the world doesn't surrender,
And lay down their anger,
When they don't see what it could be,
'Cause they are in fear, -this love they don't understand.
Some days I am reminded of something different,
By the light in the sky on a brilliant day,
That it must remind us of heaven,
'Cause love is through light,
And that is the basis of heaven.
It is the basis of life.
I believe, if it were gone, we would only be living half of who we are,
We would have forgotten the spirit,
We would no longer cry for or stand up for others,
losing understanding and faith.
When I see someone that has been hurt.
Oh, I wish we would get rid of the abuse,
When relationships crumble and nothings left,
We are not to live like this,
Love is not to have to stay beside them,
It overcomes distance,
We need to take care of ourselves,
Do what's best,
For us.
Sometimes I am reminded by the glimpse in someone's eyes,
That heaven must be near,
Love and light has been born into their spirit,
And once again is showing through.

The Sanctuary
There is a sanctuary,
In the understanding heart,
To see it, it must be understood,
It exists even with a world of pain around us,
A deep loneliness within,
But feeling everything we need to understand,
It is the greatest knowledge we could have,
And it expands until there is light beyond the walls.
Aware,
Of what we must face,
To not forget were in the middle of it,
To not forget,
It will drive us- with the force of everything we know and have felt,
Fighting to change what must be changed,
Bringing others to the sanctuary too.
At the core of a sanctuary I saw an understanding heart,
From it,
Everything growing to its capability,
Knowledge rising towards light.

Behind a tragic story,
Often there is a beautiful story,
We just can't see it now,
If only we could see their true self now,
No longer an image of death,
If only we could see the brightness in their eyes,
And the comfort in their soul,
Through that, it would open up into a world,
And we would see everything they are viewing through their eyes.
Seeing everything more beautiful and vibrant than before,
Feeling the qualities in everything at a deeper level,
and feeling everything as a whole,
A union.
To travel is easy, to go anywhere desired,
Just at the sheer thought of it,
And so there is so much shown,
All the wonders of life are clear,
And the magic of all of the amazing beauty -
Is like a precious gift, that shows itself again and again,
It shows the wholeness of each thing,
From every angle and even the inside shines through,
Like a song,
And love,
Love with more feeling, more powerful, and pure,
It is understood deeper.
It is all so real.
Earth, like a duller image of heaven,
Like a photo's negative,
But beauty can be seen in it,
And everything that is deeply cared about in heaven,-
Is what we seem to be striving for here on earth,
It is what we are born with.

What if from everyone's soul came out a picture in front of them that showed who they are,
Like a collage, clearly,
There for everyone to see,
Would people still judge them?
Maybe not,
I think people would still hate,
It seems the world is still always after the innocent,
Even when they don't realize it,
But it all adds up- from each person.
In reality,
Even without an obvious picture,
A soul can be easy to see into, -just from
expression,
But I think people would rather not see who a person is,
It's easier to hate,
They would rather look away and skip that picture of beauty and all the scars and hurt too,
-The hurt and torment that came from being judged,
And the ones that have been hurt, silently hide on the other side of the blinds,
But surrounded by a brilliant glow,
Waiting for the world to let in the sun.
And the ones that once looked away,
Opening a window,
Are no longer in the shadows of what could be,
And the void in their heart fades away.

They Should
They should care about the earth,
It is our children's future,
To be reminded by them,
And it is what they care about,
If only people would listen to children,
And take their words seriously,
Their hearts are often wiser than our own.
People say they don't care about the earth,
But they care about how children are treated,
But the earth is our children's future,
If you treat it bad,
It's going to make them suffer.
Amongst the busy streets of the city,
There is a fast pace,
Yet there is a deep loneliness,
A union left waiting to be made whole,
It is very clear,
Yet sometimes it is more understandable when it is explained.
So many people don't have respect,
For the earth or for the children,
It's like breaking a gift that was given by a friend,
And that irreplaceable symbol shatters like broken glass.

Strength
He stood tall,
Strong in spirit like a soldier,
But only a fighter of peace,
With no gun,
And in this battle he sees everything as one.
When he sees someone that has been knocked down,
His tears he cries,
They come from empathy and sorrow,
A much deeper thought and his tears remind him it seems that others hardly care,
Though it shakes his world, it makes him more determined.
His strength is made of many things, which creates a shield,
Simple things,
Like expression,
Genuine love,
All the qualities that will draw positive energy,
All things that will welcome inspiration.
He didn't feel like he was doing enough,
Nothing huge to change the world's issues.
But what is happening,
Is something that he cannot see,
There is an affect on many people that did not necessarily cross his path,
There's things he's not aware of,
Often passing from one person to the next,
Or now some have a little bit of hope,
It provoked their thoughts,
Making a larger army of soldiers.
The world tries to knock them down,
But now they know they must continue.

Music filled my soul,
Grace and purpose had voiced its existence,
A speechless meaning in a wondrous sound.
The song still lingers on,
Through every sound,
It is part of the earth,
Through everything that exists,
Through every movement,
As it thrives to bring life.
As the rain pours down,
It lightly reaches the ground,
Reaching to the soul, -touching every life-form,
It's bringing the spirit of life again.
When a heart beats,
That beat entwines with the movement of the earth, and the stars,
The wind and the tides.
As the ocean's waves splash,
Below, surrounded by a world of blue, whales call to each other,
As if there is the deepest understanding,
Not to be put into words.
Above the oceans and the trees,
When a bird is carried weightlessly on the wind,
He sings a song of his own creation,
So beautifully in tune with his soul.
Everything is part of a melody,
The melody being one with everything,
And each thing,
Like each different string of a harp,
But the sound more glorious.
But if ever one string is broken,
It seems like a part of the tune is missing.
When it is all together, how indescribably beautiful music can be.

Anger,
I think I am past it now,
We get mad when there is murder, hate, judgments,
All that takes away from the entirety of life,
When we hear it,
I creates a deeper sadness that continues wherever we go.
We must love them anyway,
They haven't learned a lesson that has impacted them yet.
For every tragedy that unfolds,
There must be some lesson found in it,
Even if it just touches one person- it will then impact more,
And even if the predator doesn't care,
It will impact us to be more empathetic and aware,
It will drive us to go against the negative ideas.
I could stand once again,
At the edge of the earth,
And leave everyone and everything behind,
Just stand and face away,
But once there,
I would see that all the lessons were undone,
For each person waiting,
When we didn't even realize it.
Even when there is a person much older than you- that has been blinded by hate and judgments,
It might impact a younger person, when around them,
Not to be that way,
'Cause they saw the wrong it did to their life,
But a lot of times,
It doesn't work that way,
Negatives connect with negatives,
And it spans outward,
The same way with positive energy too.
Somehow, I believe we can get through this.

After
After we lose someone it can be hard to love again,
'Cause we remember our love in the face of death,
Desperate,
And it's painful,
But once we start to love them as they are in heaven,
And love them in their glory,
And see it as their reality and truth,
Our love will start to become whole again,
And heal,
Knowing love as the most important thing.

I miss that embrace,
How you'd crawl in my arms,
And your love that is so genuine- open,
I miss your precious face,
I know you're still the same,
And you only have so much more to gain.
I love you forever,
My prayers remind me,
Eternally you stand out of harms way,
But when will my heart stop breaking?
When I feel your presence and glory in heaven,
While I'm here on earth.

Even when there is a person much older than you- that has been blinded by hate and judgments,
It might impact a younger person, when around them,
Not to be that way,
'Cause they saw the wrong it did to their life,
But a lot of times,
It doesn't work that way,
Negatives connect with negatives,
And it spans outward,
The same way with positive energy too.
Somehow, I believe we can get through this.

After
After we lose someone it can be hard to love again,
'Cause we remember our love in the face of death,
Desperate,
And it's painful,
But once we start to love them as they are in heaven,
And love them in their glory,
And see it as their reality and truth,
Our love will start to become whole again,
And heal,
Knowing love as the most important thing.

I miss that embrace,
How you'd crawl in my arms,
And your love that is so genuine- open,
I miss your precious face,
I know you're still the same,
And you only have so much more to gain.
I love you forever,
My prayers remind me,
Eternally you stand out of harms way,
But when will my heart stop breaking?
When I feel your presence and glory in heaven,
While I'm here on earth.

A Flower
A flower must be the most perfect work of art,
Nothing else seems so perfect,
It draws you into it's center,
And you see that every tiny detail and color is in its place,
And it is rare and beautiful,'cause it is it's own creation.
It seems like there is a reason why it is so fragile,
Where only a photo can prolong its beauty,
And when that picture that has been taken catches your soul,
You remember and see once more that it is entirely perfect.

Fear Created Fear
She is afraid to speak her mind,
Because of what people might think,
And that fear has made her act only how she thinks she is suppose to,
But in reality, all of what she wanted all along,
Has turned into something that deep down she doesn't really want,
If only she could see what she created,
All the years have accumulated,
And all the negative things have gotten to her but she doesn't see it,
She has left people wondering who she really is-
What are her true feelings?
Her opinions,
Her wants,
What does she truly care about?
She has been drawing in people that use her,
Abuse her,
What does she want?
Now her own unspoken words,
Have drown out her thoughts that would remind her what she wants and who she is,
How can she pull herself out of this ditch she has created?

I feel alone,
I will be here forever,
'Cause I know I am different.
The numbness of society tears me,
Do people not have enough feelings to want to stop the pain in another?
And more, I feel lonely,
I am suddenly pushed back into my place.
He said that the loneliest place can be in a room full of people,
Yes, I understand,
And I am in my place,-wouldn't want to be anywhere else,
'Cause I am not suppose to be like anyone else.

Kathy,
You're like an angel,
I wish you would express yourself,
Please don't be afraid,
I know that people can learn from you,
Even when you won't see it.
Don't be afraid to speak,
You will feed their fear of breaking the silence,
And if they don't like you, then that's their loss,
Who you are is not a shame,
I believe you could be a reminder to people,
That there is still a sincere heart in this world,
And they would be touched,
And they would see what they can do if they have a voice.

What She Saw
The most striking things she saw, she felt like so many didn't,
So many things that were called average.
She liked to notice the sky,
And Flowers,
And Animals.
She liked the thrill of the moment.
She liked how the water sparkles at the top from the light above,
And how different lighting from the sky creates a different affect on the ground.
At night,
She would watch the sky and the stars, it was something that she was in awe over,
Again and Again,
And when she saw an animal, she saw the spark of life and innocence in his eyes,
And when she would watch the rain, it didn't just look beautiful,
If felt that way,
She liked paintings and art,
Because it often captured what she saw.
She knew of things in a deeper way,
It was something that grew over time,
She was a woman,
Not a child,
And she would wish that people would understand all that she saw.

In a Hunter's Forest
Hidden in a hunter's forest,
There is wisdom that throbs and is eternal,
Feelings that are deeper, and they are knowing,
And the deer know to much,
That is why they have a deep pain haunting them,
Day after day,
Bitter, and agonizing the soul,
Their heart is breaking.
Yes, they do know to much,
To some it's to much to handle,
Not soon enough they'll fall like the one they loved.
It's all kept hidden in a hunter's forest,
Hidden behind the shadows,
'Cause he has never put himself in their place,
With emotion and feeling as if he were one of them.
Instead there is a terrifying war that has been going on,
Their lives suddenly ending at the choice and hand of another,
Ending by painful stabbing arrows in the heart,
And hearts slowly breaking on their own in grievance.
Hidden in a hunter's forest,
The war has continued,
Yet the emptiness is in both spaces,
The hunter hasn't opened himself or his eyes,
To that knowledge held in a heart of a deer.

The Dove
A dove sat on his perch,
All his beauty was drawn into his eyes,
In them I saw a symbol of peace,
And a symbol of strife,
His life can be difficult and harsh sometimes,
But he still knows of that unwavering beauty surrounding his world,
I saw a collage of images when I looked into his soul,
I saw the detailed architecture of cathedrals,
The crevices in-between,
And their shades and shadows,
And then the light.
I saw his gentleness,
Which was willingness to go against wrong,
A heart that only thrives to pass the symbol of his soul to another,
That maybe it could touch someone,
Even to where they would shed a tear,
A symbol profound,
In a dove's soul,
I saw the most beautiful work of art.

UNTOUCHED
The untouched told me not to be afraid,
Afraid of the death of another,
That what's important is that someone would have a good life,
A loving home.
Expressing to me something inside of her that she didn't know was so sacred,
Her presence told me of untouched and true love,
Wisdom behind her beautiful thoughts,
And the knowledge that was never learned because it always existed.
In her heart she thought she would never think different,
She wanted to help the ones who needed it.
Hearing the genuinity in her voice,
I learned from her thoughts,
'Cause what she knows now is wiser than anything else,
It's most important.
Her presence reminded me again,
We either had to have saved the things that she knows a long time ago, or learn it again,
'Cause we all want to be untouched.

Looking in your eyes,
Your gaze captures the suns rays, shining within them,
The light is more internal,

They are not immune,
Nor immune to this world.
The gray clouds have begun to shift,
And the sky clears into a beautiful painting,

As if it's a part of you,
And your gentle heart wants to take on the world.

Your life is so precious,
My imagination couldn't even show me,

Weaving something like a giant net,
One which you can fall upon when your soul breaks,
'Cause they would understand too.
I know that if you keep that simple joy that you had from the beginning,
To truly live and see that beauty,
In all the things that always will be,
Others might be inspired and touched,

I know your life is so precious,

So they attack,
The fight is what makes me write,
Reactions push me forward.
Their piercing words seem constant,
Echoing in my head,
Sometimes I think there is a reason why I listen,
It pushes me ahead to go against it.
Their words are disturbing,
Are they sinister, or is it just ignorance,
Numbness to the core of the soul?
Either way it starts a burning fire,

Sometimes the fight pushes me down and tears at me,

Have you ever been to a really beautiful park,
One that radiates and it seems like it is separate from the rest of the world,
And so do you,
And you couldn't really describe why it seems so perfect,
-You know it was never laid out perfectly.
Have you sat and watched the animals run around and play,
As they are always willing to have fun,
-That spark of life that lives within that beautiful place.
In that park, have you seen a mother and a child walking hand in hand,
And the small child is so fascinated by all the things his eyes are taking in,
-To him everything is precious,
And his happiness makes you smile.
Sometimes when I am alone,
Thoughts of these things enter my mind out of sadness,
When I know that rainforests are being cut down and other things are being destroyed,
Places that are similar to that park,
And there is an affect,
'Cause I know that the smile of the children, like the boy at the park, will become deprived,
They will rarely be able to see the things that they would have thought were precious,
And the animals that lived amongst the trees and serenity, in any area, will die or suffer from what their home is lacking,
And what becomes of the mothers that hold their son's hand, wanting to show their son the world?
She will be let down knowing that her son didn't get to grow up in a time when there was still beauty left to see, and she knows of the separation between her son and our planet, that was once treasured before.
Have you ever been to the most beautiful park,
And seen that it is a small part of something else that is much bigger?

ALL I WANT
All I want,
All that I search for,
Is to find understanding,
And empathy,
-Someone that feels the same as I,
Someone who feels empathy for the souls besides our own,
To see the world with feeling,
And emotion,
To feel it deep in their heart,
And then together somehow we can ease the pain in others,
While easing the pain in ourselves.

WHEN A SPARROW FALLS

A bullet in the head doesn't seem right,
And tragedy after tragedy is hard to accept.
I think that the people in heaven would agree with me,
They are open to giving and receiving love purely,
And so they can see more easily an animals love,
-The light that was once embraced in them.

THIS LOVE
A little girl stood by the stage of the church,
In front of all the pews, facing away from us,
She then turned our way and her face changed into a beautiful look of love.
Children are like angels that watch out for us,
Because if we pay attention, they will guide us to what is right,
Even if we feel we are starting to slip,
We can look to them for the answers,
The answers and the things we will learn through open love and life.

HER MIRACLE
Collapsing,
She falls to the ground,
On the dirt she lays,
With her boney face to the side,
And her eyes rolling back in her head,
As her father bows over her in grief.
She is starving,
Look at her face,
And those innocent eyes.
Oh God, please bring her a miracle,
Please, she is malnutritioned and starving to death,
Her life is unraveling before my eyes.
Please, let me see what her life would be if it did not unravel,
And only grew,
Let me see all that she could be, God,
Let me see that she will grow to be healthy, with so much life in her eyes,
And in them showing her precious love,
Let me see that her parents can be full of joy for their daughter, as only a parent can know,
Let me see how she will touch so many other's lives,
Along the way making a chain reaction,
Throughout all her years,
As she grows into a beautiful young woman,
With a glowing face,
And with a chance to always be learning,
Continuously touching lives.
Where is that miracle?
She is waiting for someone to come with a miracle,
A human or a god,
She's waiting,
Trying to.
But her time is running out.

THE SKY
I looked up at the sky,
And thought about its beauty,
And wondered what the view would be like from so high above,
I know it would be so amazing,
It would be more than just a view.
What if I WAS the sky?
There would be so many things I would probably know and realize,
Stories and lives,
And beauty,
As I watched everyone live out their lives, below,
Day to day,
All the people and the animals,
Every moment of their lives I'd see,
And I would find myself wanting to get involved sometimes,
For their every joy and pain I'd feel,
Every moment of joy would become my own,
And every pain I would take in when tragedy struck,
Doing it as if I were the parent and they were my children,
And I would find that my love for them was very true,
And my love would become the radiant light that shines from this heaven,
Because I would see how precious every life was as I watched them grow,
Without hiding, their lessons and experiences would always teach me more.
If I were the sky,
It would be hard for me to understand why people would want to think different.
And now I realize that I do want to be like that one I would be,
If I were the sky.

THEY SAID
People say, "That's just the way it is",
When tragedies are happening and hearts are breaking,
In all the areas that could be changed,
Sounding like it's not worth trying to change things.
Though if a child knew of these things, I'd hear a different reaction,
They'd say, "NO!",
They're heart telling them it isn't right,
So innocent, they don't accept the ways of the world,
The killing, because they know it's not right,
And I think we should not grow away from that,
Why must we accept the ways of the world?
Why start doing the damage ourselves?
Have people stopped caring?, stopped appreciating?
It's really not about who we know or who we are close to when someone is in danger,
It is how we can understand.
They have agreed, that the world would be a better place if we learned from children,
So why have children been pushed aside with all the other issues?
I wish the world would start listening with their heart.

He knows whenever each sparrow falls,
And he knows today when her soul left her body,
That her wings don't even have to carry her, as she is guided peacefully,
He now touches her soul with light, like a precious kiss,
And the love she always had makes a union with his perfect love.

EVEN THOUGH
Even though the world disagrees with me,
Killing doesn't seem right,
It seems like we should be trying to make animal's
lives peaceful and happy,
Isn't that what life is about?

FALL INTO A SONG
I want to fall into a song,
And have it be all that surrounds me,
Just become enveloped in its light,
And only seeing its light,
The rest of the world will disappear.
I want to become part of the song,
Feeling its every emotion as the depth of my own soul,
As every note of this song has feeling,
And those streaks of light reach toward the heavens,
And I never want to leave this place.
