When hopes turn to facts,
when dreams become reality,
things turn around,
a life much brighter than before,
when the future,
these children,
this dream,
that their love is not overlooked,
or forgotten,
that they will be nurtured,
and respected,
in all aspects,
the natural beauty in their soul,
reinforced by the atmosphere around them,
all leads to reach higher to a greater peace,
for the anguish of others,
when love exists from the depth of the soul,
and is real and true.

Starving Life Away
There is a world hidden by dust,
And by forgetfulness,
Desperation hidden by lies.
"It's starving in the shadow of plenty", she said,
I don't know what to do,
My heart is breaking,
Their heart is failing,
They are weak,
So weak,
And innocent,
They have dreams and hopes,
Their dreams try to surface to mind,
But they're pushed down with helplessness.
They say there's hope,
Maybe it's a matter of time,
The child is terribly sick,
The hunger has crippled her,
Any kind of cure is too far away,
There's no way......,
They say there's hope,
But this precious life can't wait,
She holds her child in her arms,
As her tears drip down onto her dark face,
So desperate,
Yet time almost seems to have stopped,
Because with a world with so many riches,
Can't we see through the dust?
It can get in your eyes and blind you forever.
With starvation happening all the time,
These people can't be a statistic number anymore,
In their eyes they never were,
If you just look into their eyes,
So sad,
You will see a person that wants a chance at life so bad,
But there is a dusty haze hiding them from the developed world,
Could it be lack of media,
Only famines make the news,
But this is the norm,
Oh I wish the dust would clear,
For all the people blinded by the dusty haze between us,
More children fall,
Weak and helpless,
Leave this earth,
With their family in tears,
When a world so capable,
Stood there and looked away.

If The Earth Had Tears
In the atmosphere,
And in each other's surroundings,
Through miles and miles,
The surroundings are connected to each other,
We are under the same sky,
If we understand,
We can feel for someone that is miles away,
Yet it is close to our hearts,
Close to the core,
Where our feelings live,
And from the core of the earth,
It supports our feelings,
For it is the breath of life.
If the earth had tears,
It would feel a pain so deep,
For so many things,
And in so many ways,
It would cry over the lonely river dolphin,
For there is no one else left to look into his eyes,
It would cry over the aura of the emaciated and innocent child,
Paying for someone else's greed,
It would cry over the tragic deaths of the wild horses,
Losing life in the midst of its sunlight,
Maybe the earth, in a way, does have tears,
Just in a different form,
But with the same meaning,
It would cry over the bare mud hole that was once a rain forest,
That held a life of its own,
It is still trying to make up for what it has lost,
It would cry over the polluted cities,
And the ones in it that breath the toxins in every breath,
Its tears would fall,
Knowing people did this to themselves,
It would cry over the bones that are lying there of the extinct animals,
Knowing they will never walk on the earth again,
It would cry over the beautiful golden fields,
That are so heavenly,
Being broken up and covered entirely in cement,
But mostly,
The earth would cry because the intelligence of mankind would not see it cry.

Guide Children
With the foundation we are born with,
And when what we teach is right,
They will see importance,
Children will see hope in a better future,
A future for the rest of the world.
That spark is present, I have seen it.
Teach kids to care,
To see what they are suppose to see,
And they will stand,
Balanced on that foundation they were born with.
And that spark will burn bright and become strong.
Sometimes it is shaken,
By the hatred the world has taught,
And as adults, they won't learn that innocence again,
Only until they choose to,
It is their choice.
What if we were never taught,
To keep being caring or gentle, as we grow older,
Then would we be lost?
'Cause we would never care to look to the heart of a child.

Inspiration
Inspiration reaches out,
It moves many people,
More than are even known,
It brings new thoughts,
And spans miles across this world,
To people of different cultures,
It can bring a connection of thoughts,
Or just through expression, new ideas are mentioned,
That may mean so much,
A collection of words kept,
Can make wise,
Beyond their years,
And can last generations,
Someone's feelings can be the greatest inspiration,
And most important is love,
Inspiration can almost heal someone's heart,
And then be passed on,
It can touch someone,
Even in a profound way,
They will never forget it,
It lives in the souls of us,
And may last longer than we know.

Cry
I cry for this world,
I cry,
For the lost,
The hopeless,
For the dieing,
The misunderstood,
For the lovers,
This pain stabs me,
But I can't forget them,
For to forget them,
Would be foolish,
If we forget them,
We are alone,
Alone like the rest of this forgetful world,
I cry for the dieing,
In these two hemispheres of this world,
My hope,
Reaches for answers,
My mind,
Wrenches for ideas,
Just like them,
The precious children in these hospitals,
They deserve a chance,
The starving,
They need help so bad,
The diseased,
That need hospitals,
I cry for this world,
In all its areas of despair,
Its hatred for the kind,
It's shame,
And its misery,
But these have been forgotten in everyday life,
Only forgotten by the careless,
But the pain felt by the ones that hurt,
Is too great to be forgotten,
This world can change,
I have seen it before,
From the few,
Beautiful people I have seen,
They touch my heart,
For they understand,
This world can be helped.

Lies
There's a lie going around,
It's not to late to be found,
The truth suffers,
While someone smiles,
This world continues to go by,
When each passing chance,
Fades so harshly as someone cries,
It's something that can never come again,
Something buried by a lie,
It's something so precious,
We cannot continue to lose it,
All of it is in this earth,
Connected with us,
Tied by living on the same planet,
This loss,
Of so much,
Is covered by this lie,
That this beautiful place,
And all that belongs in it,
Is being taken care of.

Another World
Somewhere,
There is a place that can be found,
It is surrounded by an unpleasant atmosphere,
When hurting subsides,
And my despair has crumbled,
I fall away to another place,
Its own peace I have known,
It is innocent,
And only sees beauty,
This place,
Is it real,
Or not,
Does it care?
But the people's severe disrespect continues,
Through my desperate search for peace,
There is a calm inside this storm,
Where I almost don't care,
But it's always in the back of my mind,
Struggling to be free,
And through the continuous pain of the world,
This place keeps my heart beating,
For this unbearable pain of the earth,
Would strangle my heart until there is nothing left,
But these tragedies are not to be forgotten,
They are a lesson to be learned ahead of time.
Soothing,
And pure,
Can there be,
A place left,
With some sanity,
Somewhere an outreach from heaven,
But this can be seen,
Somewhere,
There must be a place that can be found.

Unique
I believe,
Unique is most beautiful,
Their strength is being themselves,
They don't pretend,
They only believe,
And image what they know they can do,
Admired,
My hope is to be like them,
But is only possible in my own way,
The history they have created is peace,
They are remembered unlike anyone else,
Because their beauty shines in unique colors,
And gives this world a new view of light,
It is captured by them,
And then passed on,
Along with their strength,
They are only human,
But has learned so deeply that judgment is false,
They have paid the price,
But it only makes them gentler,
And to make themselves become a symbol of peace,
Is a strength that goes beyond anything else.

A Precious Place
A beautiful heart,
The smell of trees,
So pure,
The sweet sense of flowers,
In the green grass,
The light shines onto it,
As the quiet water brings life,
I look up at the white clouds,
While the earth continues to move on through space,
I hear the sound of the earth,
All of these,
Completes a dance,
It's the music of the earth,
In this imagination,
This place runs free,
A beauty in its own,
The wind so soft,
Takes me far way,
From a place,
A place that doesn't even enter my mind,
A place filled with hatred,
And disrespect,
The starvation of the city,
The dust that chokes my breath,
And the garbage that clutters this harsh place,
But through my sadness,
And my confusion,
There is a precious place that remains in my heart,
A place that is gentle,
And only shows an atmosphere that can never be forgotten.

Friendship
A true friendship is rare to come by,
It is delicate,
And should so gently be taken care of,
It's a joy that can brighten a world,
Or can find some understanding in it,
With humbled appreciation,
And inspiration,
It is a perfect balance,
When they feel so sad,
You feel so deeply a part of their sadness,
Friends can keep dreams alive,
They can make another overcome the deepest doubt,
It's something so beautiful,
Words couldn't describe,
It is irreplaceable,
And precious beyond time,
And when this world rips and tears you,
There is one person that is there,
Reminding you that you're not alone,
And somehow that holds you together.

As Someone Speaks
Someone speaks to me,
As I hear their soul,
I try to understand their emotions in all its complexity,
Feeling the same emotions someone else feels at that moment,
Brought through experiences that I've not actually been through,
Repeatedly,
I have walked through,
I have cried inside,
But it never over powers me to want to become numb,
Sometimes it brings fear,
That if it happens to them,
It could happen to me,
Hurting,
As a person lies cruelly about someone,
Feeling as much sadness as the innocent would have felt.
As someone screams,
The sadness as a whole of all things in this world,
Creates a hole in my heart,
A void that wants to be filled.

Here, Inside
Feeling forsaken,
Misplaced,
This child was brought to this place to live here,
Questions fill her mind,
Not understanding,
To young to know how to deal,
She lives here,
But really only survives,
This foster home is built from the poor,
And made with ragged wood, it is seen in the walls,
Like how her precious life was slowly built,
This house full of children,
Assisted with guardians,
Doesn't feel at all like home,
She lives day to day,
Time slowly passing by,
Not knowing what to think,
She has been abandoned by her father,
And with her now, is this feeling of an empty stomach and a sense of confusion,
All of this can be seen in her eyes,
Only wanting love,
Her sad eyes moisten her face,
Her tears fall,
Fall from the emotions deep in her heart,
To kind to ask for anything,
She waits,
While this place made for children,
Cannot support the needs of a child,
And it cuts like a knife in the soul.

Depressing?
People hear the unpleasant realities of this world,
And say it's depressing,
But it is not just only there to be sorrowful for,
It is there to be turned around,
And to be able to see that these can be changed,
The reality and the creation of understanding lives there,
with minds so powerful to move,
We are here,
We are all together on the same planet,
And we can see hope,
The same hope these needy souls are trying so hard to believe in,
There is nothing else they can do,
This is reality,
But this dream of nourishment can be their reality,
It is not ever to far to reach for,
From where love begins as a child,
We can carry it through our lives,
And not lose it,
The opportunities to create peace are here now at this moment,
It is so valuable,
And life is depending on it,
I see these doors wide open,
These tears can be wiped dry,
And through the guilt of society,
It is not bad to keep believing in what you believe in,
It is simple,
And powerful,
It can touch souls,
And their dreams,
We just need to believe it ourselves,
And when changes are made by us,
It can shine so bright in someone's world,
And it may catch a moment of the sight of a better tomorrow.

At Night
In sleepless nights,
Their pain haunts me,
Trying to find peace of mind,
For what has happened,
I see that there are no excuses,
Oh, God I pray that you take them to heaven,
Where love keeps open arms,
While earth has showed them none.

When expression is appreciation,
And love is really true,
From culture to culture,
From life to the malnourished,
A feeling stands between us,
When all creation is as one,
From the stars to the fields,
From all dreams and hopes,
And the creation from it,
The colors of the world,
Reflect in the prism of the imagination,
When emotions are gentle,
And through all thought,
Then,
Spirits are free.

Kate
You brought me so much joy,
A joy that is so different from anything else,
Something I want to hang on to,
I raised you like you were my child,
I wanted to take you on adventures,
And see your pretty eyes light up with curiosity,
I wanted to show everyone what a kind soul you are,
And how unconditional love is,
When I used to feel like no one cared about me,
You would show me that you love me,
You always make me feel better when I am sad.
Now that you are in spirit,
You are no less beautiful from the day when you were born,
Now I want you to live happy the rest of your life,
Filled with joy,
I pray for you often,
My love for you is forever,
And you understand me as much as I understand you,
I know you don't want me to be sad,
Now you can go wherever your heart desires,
And run and play,
You can show many more people your love, yourself,
I know you will probably come and visit me throughout my life,
And that means so much to me,
May god guide you and I through our lives,
With each other in our hearts.

Is there a soul that is pure,
Someone that believes in morals that are clear,
Something that makes their heart innocent,
And kind,
And seeing that beauty in it,
Is there a soul that loves unconditionally,
And sees all that you can learn through love faithfully,
Is there a soul that does not follow to the likes of others,
But knows they can stand tall in their own way,
And would only follow to learn of better things to say,
Is there a soul that is free,
To do what they feel,
Someone that can see empathy as real,
Why does the world have so few people like this,
And is it really so far between them?
The world stands as stone,
Until someone breaks through somehow,
I will be waiting for them to be seen through the crowd.

I Dream
I dream that there is love,
that there is someone that's so gentle,
someone that I can trust.
its been so long,
its been,
it seems,
my whole life,
I know it has to be somewhere,
because I know,
I can be trusted,
i will give all I can give,
even if I might get slapped in the face,
the world is confused,
it doesn't understand,
it is numb,
this world needs love.
I believe what I want to believe,
I keep moving forward,
I might slow down,
but I will try not to stop.
somewhere,
there must be a place in someone's heart,
that has the same dream as I.

A Beautiful Heart
A beautiful heart is strong
Yet vulnerable
A caring nature
And empathy holds it
It overcomes the beauty on the outside
It is stronger than others
It has been hurt repeatedly
And still reaches out again to help
For the pain of others is to great
For even them to bare
There is understanding
Not to selfish to hear
A connection with others of their kind
And there are few.
They don't feel like they belong
But they still have hope for the hurting people
The people that are much unlike them
The world's unkindness towards them
Tries to knock them down
But this heart is stronger than others
It has the power to keep going
When a culture surrounding them might follow in a path of destruction.
